For this tea towel design, I wanted to create a design that would highlight the state of Idaho yet still be a stylish piece that could be incorporated into many different kitchens. My solution was to focus on some of the state elements, and after doing some research, I selected a huckleberry and jam, syringa, and a Monarch butterfly. I found photo references to create my illustrations, then selected a color scheme of warm tones that took inspiration from the source material. The final pattern incorporates movement and depth, along with simplicity so that each element can be appreciated.
